Heres How to Make a Computer Faster
When you need to make your computer faster, the first thing you need to do is ask yourself the question “Do I need a New Computer?” Making a computer faster isn’t really that difficult and you can do a lot of things to make your computer go faster for free; including steps I have outlined for you below.
However, if your computer is out of date, and needs upgraded components to run new software, you should evaluate either purchasing a new computer or building a new computer yourself.
With all that said, let’s talk about some steps you can take to make a computer run faster.
Most people today don’t have the funds to run out and replace their computer whenever it starts to slow down, and they shouldn’t necessarily do that anyway. There are easy steps you can take for free to extend the life or your existing PC. You may not be able to run the newest and most powerful software, but if you don’t need to do that, then it really makes no difference.
Using some of the tips below will save you a lot of money, so get started as quickly as possible. A little thought and time spent reading this will help you understand how to make a computer faster.
There are a few simple things that happen naturally over a period of time that make a computer fun slower than it should. Downloading programs, bits of code and files, pictures, videos, even sometimes when you don’t even know it, happens all the time. These things can clutter up your computer and make is slower. They are definitely a hard drive space hog and some may even be programmed to automatically go into your RAM (random access memory) – those really slow your computer down. Go to your control panel and uninstall old programs that you don’t use. The longer you wait and the more “junk” you put on your computer the slower it will get.
After you have deleted those old programs you don’t want to use anymore, go to your browser and delete your cache and your cookies. This in and of itself will make a computer faster when it comes to negotiating the net, and can go a long way in keeping your information safe and free from ID theft.
Next go to your accessories, system tools folder in your start, programs menu and fire up your disk cleanup utility. That utility will delete a lot more junk like temp files, more cached information and the like. After that step is complete go to the same folder and run your disk defragmenter utility. This will take a while. I usually run mine over night. These are all free steps to make your computer run faster both on and off the internet.
I recommend you run these utilities and activities at least once per week. If you do that you will see a quick difference and they will definitely make your computer faster.
My Best!
